
The Heritage Day Parade: The parade showcases and acknowledge community leaders, city officials, high school bands, organizations and foundations.
The Heritage Village: In an effort to feed the parade’s growing popularity we have extended a host of ancillary events that afford more opportunities for businesses and community members to participate in this annual event. Including a captive, orchestrated village with guest celebrities, vendor booths, live entertainment, speakers, health zone, kids zone, and career zone.
Miss Heritage Queens Court: Our Queens Court consist of four extraordinary African-American young ladies between the ages of 5 -25 who exhibit community pride, cultural awareness and social achievement.
Court participants are selected through an essay contest conducted by a panel of judges prior to the Heritage Day Festival & Parade festivities.
HERITAGE AWARDS
The Carter G. Woodson Award: This award is presented to an individual of strong morale character that has been instrumental in empowering communities through positive reinforcement.
